Inbound Marketing vs Outbound Marketing

Is Your Online Marketing Plan Working For You?
I guess the question that you have to ask yourself is. Are my online marketing efforts focused in the right direction? Well the answer is quite simple, if you are an inbound marketer and you cover every aspect of inbound marketing then you're answer is probably yes!

If you asked yourself what inbound marketing is then you're definitely in need of a new marketing strategy. Inbound marketing is a must for ANY COMPANY whether they sell a product or a service. The days of your business was doing well without an inbound strategy in place are come and gone. Outbound marketing has been very effective for many years since it was the way to market and reach new customers. This outbound technique was able to bring your product or service to them. Now you must be able to bring your customer to your product or service.

Let me go into detail, if you remember many years back we had the site called Myspace where we shared music interests and could browse other profiles. This site won the trust of many people, so much that when one of our contacts was hacked and sent a spam we wondered why that person would of did that? We all remember confronting those contacts as to why they would have sent a message like that. This was the beginning for us to be solicited where we didn't want to be solicited. Along with the radio, television and newspaper advertising, advertising, advertising!

For a decade everywhere we would go there would be more advertising and what we began doing is blocking it out. Then over the last 3 years we began to be a lot more active in the world of social media and blogging. This allowed us to have make a more selective choice to whom was allowed to take part our community. Today we have all learned to block out any solicitation we face day to day. So without going deeper this why your marketing efforts are not the right ones unless you implement a proven inbound strategy.

This way will not be a phase or a fad.Inbound marketing is here to stay since it is the first strategy that allows the customer and company to help each other before a transaction. This makes the customer feel more personal with the seller and established a relationship before any solicitations were sent or received. This is the way tomorrows customer will buy. When you have kept a contact with the person you have informed or taught in the past they will come back to you when they are ready to buy. Here are 5 must do things to switch over to inbound!

  1. Determine your ideal customer persona(Find out who is your ideal buyer and market to that persona and group)
  2. Begin categorizing your contacts. Segment them as per proper value and methods to solicit them( for example your contact has purchased for your company 3 times, This customer should be put on a list that every month they receive a relevant offer)
  3. Engage your potential customer on social media( help them with any dilemma they have concerning your product or service)
  4. Begin monitoring their activity through your analytics( then focus on what worked whether it was your call to action or your landing page that successfully converted the lead)
  5. Learn how to delight your customers( make their experience one of a kind so you can turn your customer into a promoter of your product

Inbound Marketing has  taken over our world as we know it and your existing way to market has officially come and gone.
